The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
This book makes for a marvelous engrossing read, which has all the makings of an epic thriller - plot twists, unsolved mysteries, nail biting scenarios and colorful characters. I found myself rooting for the two central characters, the detective and hacker Lisbeth Slander as well as her unlikely partner, the former journalist Mikael Blomkvist. The intrigue ensues in the detailed and complicated story along with the eccentric family living out in the cold. The fantastic novel kept me engrossed till the end and made for an incredible read. However, my only complaint with the book is that the real revelation at the ending happens much in advance than the actual ending of the book.
The Pizza Mystery (The Boxcar Children Mysteries #33)
I think that this is a really excellent kids' book. It is indeed one of my favorite ones from Boxcar Children Mystery Series. It tells the story of the Aldens, who come to aid their old friends, Mr. and Mrs. Piccolo at the pizza parlor. However, when the kids devise all sorts of ingenious ideas ranging from mini pizzas to a delivery service, lots of bizarre things start going on such as peculiar soda coupons for kids as someone gets determined to ruin the business of Piccolo. The Boxcar Children resolutely offer their help in solving the ambiguity and thus the book turns out to be a great read full of adventure and intrigue.
